Overview:

Paradiso Public School District, comprising two schools in Arecibo and Rio Piedras, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of School to oversee and lead our district. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, a proven track record of success in school administration, and the ability to manage complex operations across multiple locations. This role requires strong leadership, financial oversight, and experience in government compliance and grant management. Candidate must be bilingual English/Spanish

Key Responsibilities:

School Leadership and Management:

Provide strategic leadership and vision to ensure the success and growth of both schools in Arecibo and Rio Piedras.

Develop and implement policies and programs that promote a high standard of education and student achievement.

Ensure effective communication and collaboration between staff, students, parents, and the broader school community.

Operational Oversight:

Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Ensure that both campuses operate smoothly and are well-resourced, with strong systems in place for communication, logistics, and educational programming.

Oversee and manage financial operations, including budgeting, expenditure tracking, and long-term financial planning.

Government Interaction and Compliance:

Maintain strong relationships with local and state educational authorities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Serve as the primary liaison between the school district and government agencies.

Grant Writing and Management:

Lead efforts in securing and managing grants to support educational programs, facilities, and other district needs.

Collaborate with staff to identify funding opportunities and draft grant proposals to secure necessary resources.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as the face of the district, representing its mission and goals to the community.

Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, local businesses, government officials, and other stakeholders.

Foster a positive school culture that reflects the values of Paradiso and promotes student and staff success.

Leadership Development and Human Resources:

Mentor and develop school leaders and administrative staff to ensure strong performance and professional growth.

Drive staff recruitment, retention, and professional development efforts.

Foster a culture of accountability, inclusiveness, and high expectations for staff and students.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in school administration, with a proven record of running and operating schools.

Experience with compliance and regulatory issues in education, particularly related to government interaction.

Demonstrated ability to write and manage grants.

Financial acumen with experience overseeing school budgets and operations.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to relocate to Puerto Rico and willingness to commute between Arecibo and Rio Piedras as needed.

Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
